Vibewire, a non-profit youth organisation, currently working toward the 2009 E-Festival of Ideas, to be held in early May of this year. The E-Festival is basically an annual week-long youth-based conference in Australia, bringing together politicians, think tanks, celebrities and Australian youth to discuss and debate big issues affecting our generation and share ideas. As the event is online, it’s also pitched at a global audience and gets a lot of international involvement.
There are 4 sections (including Politics, The Economic Crisis and Generation Y) and I’m the ‘Panel Coordinator’ of the Human Rights section. Within each section are 3 subtopics. Each of these subtopic panels is headed by a Panel Guest.
The festival will be a great way for you to share ideas with youth around the globe who are passionate or just curious about these issues and will be very interested in what you have to say from your academic perspective.
If you would like any more information please do not hesitate to contact me via email or Rachel (the Festival of Ideas Coordinator) at rachel.beaney@vibewire.org or in the Vibewire Office on (02) 9660 6591.
This year’s topics are all very fresh and exciting and it’s bound to make for some engaging discussion! I hope you will be able to participate !
Attached is the list of the 3 subtopics for the Human Rights section and the press release for the E-Festival.
Let me know if you would like to participate or if you have any questions!
Hope to hear from you soon,
Kindest regards,
